If a student is having trouble logging into Clever, their teachers can help them log in by generating a one-time-use backup code.
Backup codes are generated and used with the following steps:
- Teachers log in to their Clever account and click on the "Students" tab at the top right corner. Then they click on the student's name whom they wish to help.
- If teacher assisted login is enabled for your district, teachers will then see an option that says "Get One Time Login Code." Once they click on this link, they will receive a backup code to give to the student.
- Once students have their code, they will go to your district's login page and click "Login with a backup code" Once the code is entered, they will be taken directly to their Clever Portal.
Each backup code is unique to the student, backup codes can only be used within 20 minutes of when they are generated, and can only be used once.
- After the student logs in to their Clever account, the teacher should reach out to the District Administrator or support contact in order to find a long-term login solution.
