Clever teachers can now send messages to students via the Clever Portal! Teacher announcements provide a quick and easy way to share messages with your students via Teacher Pages. Students are even able to reply to teacher announcements!
Posting a message
Navigate to the Teacher Page that you would like to post a message to.
Click the teacher announcement button at the top of the page.
Craft your message and click Post! You can select whether or not to allow student replies by toggling the "Allow students to reply" button. Student replies are only visible to you.
Your message will now show in your Teacher Page!
Editing and deleting messages
In the top corner next to the New announcement button, click the drop-down button. You will see the option to edit and delete the message.
What students see
Once you post a message to your Teacher Page, your students will be able to see it from their Clever Portals.
After clicking Read now, students will be taken to the message on your Teacher Page.
If more than one teacher has posted an announcement, students will be notified of all messages and can select to read a specific announcement from a list of teachers.
If student replies are enabled, students can respond to teacher messages by clicking Reply. Replies are only visible to the teacher.
Teachers can see which students have viewed and replied to their message by selecting “Views” in the bottom left corner of the teacher announcement window.
Do messages expire?
Teacher announcements will remain on your Clever Teacher Page until they are updated or deleted.
Can I retrieve deleted messages?
Teachers cannot retrieve deleted messages at this time. If you’d like to store a message or student replies, we recommend downloading your message before creating a new announcement.
Can I send messages to a subset of students?
Teachers can post one message per Teacher Page. If you have multiple Teacher Pages in your Clever Portal, you can post a specific message to the students that have been shared with that page. Teachers cannot post messages to a hand-picked subset of students.
Can I post more than one message at a time?
Teachers can post one message per Teacher Page, but cannot post multiple messages to a single page at a given time.
