What is the custom setup wizard?
All districts go through your application's setup guide when they connect to your application on Clever. The guide will walk them through three key setup steps:
- Sharing data
- Viewing and resolving any data validation errors
- Viewing your application's custom steps
The custom setup wizard allows you to add a message to districts who are adding your application for the first time. This message will be shown to districts after they have connected to the application and configured their data sharing. This is the perfect place to tell district administrators about additional setup steps they may need to take in the application, add login instructions, or just let them know you’ll be in touch!
To see the full district experience, see our district admin guide to setting up data sharing with an application for the first time.
How do I use the custom setup wizard?
To set your team and your districts up for success with this feature, we recommend completing both of the steps below.
Step 1: Add custom setup instructions
To edit this message, navigate to the Settings > District Setup and select ‘Edit’. If you do not have custom setup steps to highlight, you can just add a short confirmation message.
You can use this space to link to external setup instructions and manage district expectations for finalizing their connection with your application.
Once you've added your customized setup, this will be displayed to districts on the last step of the setup wizard and within the dashboard.
Step 2: Ensure your data quality settings are up to date
Data validation is key to ensuring that districts catch data issues before launch! These settings should accurately reflect your application’s data quality requirements. For more information on where to check your data quality settings, see our guide to verifying district data quality.
Clever Tip: Make sure that your application’s data warnings and/or errors are up to date by navigating to the 'Warnings' tab of any district in your dashboard. If any updates should be made, contact your Customer Success Manager or Clever Support.
