Clever Remote Learning Checklist for Teachers
Set up your digital learning environment
1. Build out a digital classroom with Clever Teacher Pages
Clever Teacher Pages are a fully personalized learning portal that teachers can use to build a digital classroom. With Teacher Pages, a teacher can add any online learning resource to a page shared with a custom group of students, whether it’s an application, a google doc, PDF or a link to a webpage. To learn more, check out the 5 min video here.
Tip: Teachers can add links to Portal for digital assignments, using links such as Google Docs or Google Slides. See an example below and instructions for how to add links here.
2. Set up a virtual meeting space
In cases where you would still like to meet virtually with students, you can set up a virtual meeting space that’s accessed via a Clever Teacher Page. To learn more about how you can enable a virtual meeting space via Clever with Zoom, read the article here.
3. Discover new digital learning resources with Clever Library
With Clever Library, you can safely discover high-quality digital learning applications for remote learning. Clever Library contains hundreds of free resources that have been reviewed by other verified teachers on Clever. You can share any resource from the library to your classes with a single click. Ensure everyone can log in
4. Send Clever login instructions home to families
You can use our customizable PDFs to share your district-specific login URL and instructions - available in multiple languages here. Fill these out and email or text them to parents/guardians. If parents are new to using Clever, or just want more information, send them to clever.com/families.
Ensure remote learning success
5. Track student remote learning engagement with Class Analytics
Class Analytics allows teachers to see which students have been active over the last week and what resources they’ve accessed. Use Class Analytics to ensure students are able to access the resources they need. If you see a student that needs help, you can reach out to them via the contact information provided directly in the analytics interface. More info here.
6. Communicate with students and families with Messages and Announcements
Messages lets you send 1:1 messages to students. You may also be able to message parents if your district has the Family Portal turned on. Teacher Announcements send a class-wide announcement and show up inside of a Teacher Page. Learn more about Messages here and Announcements here.

Remote Learning with Clever
Once your student is logged in to Clever, there are several ways you and their teachers can support their remote learning using our platform.
Clever Teacher Pages allow your student’s teacher to create a custom page for each of their classes. Think of it as the teacher’s digital classroom in Clever! The teacher page is your student’s one-stop-shop for their digital learning resources where they can access learning resources along with community-building content.
Teacher messaging and announcements
Your student’s teachers now have the ability to communicate with your student directly through the Clever Portal. Teachers can use the Teacher Announcements feature to share an announcement with their entire class. With Messaging, teachers and students can also message via the Clever portal. Whether your child needs extra help or just wants a quick check in to stay connected, with Clever their teacher is only a click away!
Clever Family Portal
Clever now has a Family Portal where you can support your child and their learning.
Student login tools
Once you’ve logged into your Clever Portal family account, select the student you want to assist from the portal home page and then click the instant login button. This will automatically log the student into their Clever Portal on your device.
The Family Portal is not only a place for guardians to help their students log in but also a place where guardians can support students who are learning at home. The Clever ideas tab houses these Clever-curated resources. Our team thoroughly vets materials for clarity, relevance, reputable sourcing, and insight for families, choosing only resources that meet our rigorous criteria to share in the Family Portal.
Teacher to family messaging
Teachers can now also directly message families that have activated a Clever Family Portal. This tool gives teachers a simple and direct line to the families they support right from the Clever Portal where they’ve built their digital classroom.
We know many families will have a preferred language other than English. To help with this, the Clever Family Portal can be configured in multiple languages so family members can engage with the platform in the language that is most comfortable for them.
Please note: If your district has not yet activated the Clever Family Portal you will not be able to take advantage of these resources.
