You can set up external links for your students and teachers to click on when they log into the Clever Portal. Custom external links work much like bookmarks- bringing your users directly to the webpage. You can customize which external links are visible, based on user type, grade level, and school sites.
Unlike single sign-on (SSO) or Saved-passwords applications, external links do not authenticate users into their web-based resources.
Adding a Custom External Link
When accessing your Portal:
- Click "Customize Portal"
- Click ‘Add Link’ next to the category under which you want the new link to appear.
- Select the last option in the menu that states “Create a custom link”.
- Select an icon or upload a custom icon (Note: Optimal icon size should be 200x200)
- Fill out the appropriate fields.
- Select which user types, grades, and schools you would like to add the custom link for.
- Click ‘Add Link’.
- Hit ‘Publish Changes’ on the top right after you are finished.
You can organize external links as well as connected applications by clicking the Customize Portal button in the top right hand corner:
Moving Icons
- Click Customize Portal.
- Drag and drop icons to the preferred category. You can drop icons into the preferred category in the sidebar or on the same page.
- Please note: If you experience issues dragging and dropping the app icons, please try resizing your browser window to a smaller size and try again!
- Hit ‘Publish Changes’ on the top right after you are finished.
Editing Categories
- Click ‘Customize Portal’ on the top right.
- Click on the subtitle you wish to edit and directly change the text.
- You can add a category by clicking ‘Add a new category’ in the sidebar on the top left side of the page.
- You can delete a category by hitting ‘Remove Category’ next to the category you want to remove.
- Hit ‘Publish Changes’ after you are finished!
