Overview
The Clever browser extension is the key to making sure your SSO (Saved Passwords) applications work properly whether students are accessing Clever from school, home, or both. To easily access SSO (Saved Passwords) applications from home, you will need to ensure the Clever browser extension is installed on all devices students are using to access Clever. Single sign-on (SSO) is available for many applications in Clever without a browser extension but, for Saved Passwords apps, a browser extension is required. Currently, the browsers we support are Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. Please note:
- The Clever browser extension is not required for iOS devices (e.g. iPads, iPhones) as these devices use the Clever app which acts as the browser extension. For details, visit: SSO (Saved Passwords) Apps: iOS Devices
- For devices where the browser extension cannot be downloaded (e.g. Android), Saved Passwords apps will not be accessible. For details, visit: Clever Browser & Device Compatibility
Please note: If your students are accessing SSO (Saved Passwords) applications from home due to remote learning, we recommend standardizing credentials for Saved Passwords apps, like student number for username and date of birth for the password, so it is easier for students and families to remember when initially prompted to log in.
